The meeting featured candidates for Pinal County Superintendent of Schools Jill Broussard, Anthony Gonzalez and Orlenda Roberts. All three candidates were very generous with their time and answered member questions regarding the state of schools in Pinal County.

Please remember to vote in the August 28th Primary and again in the General Election on November 6th.

Having increased its numbers dramatically over the past two years, the San Tan Valley Chamber of Commerce has announced an opportunity for new members to learn more information about the Chamber and the many resources it can provide to businesses.

The San Tan Valley Chamber of Commerce's monthly after-hours mixer has a new permanent home beginning Thursday, July 12th.

Located at 36460 North Encanterra Drive in San Tan Valley, the Encanterra Country Club will open its doors to Chamber members the second Thursday of each month form 6:00 - 8:00pm. Members and guests are invited to enjoy food, beverages and a valuable networking opportunity with business owners and representatives from throughout San Tan Valley. Encanterra offers both 55-and-over, and non-age-restricted communities, a 60,000 square foot clubhouse, championship golf course, full-service spa and banquet facilities. 

Most entrepreneurs buy businesses as an investment or to fulfill a dream, but instead of future monetary gain or to satisfy a desire to create San Tan Valley's perfect pizza, John Akers purchased Mama Nina's Pizza and Wings as a gift.

Mama Nina is an actual person and a physical therapist who helped Akers escape a wheelchair and walk again after an accident several years ago.

This month's meeting will feature discussion of the race for Pinal County School Superintendent. All three candidates - incumbent Orlenda Roberts, as well as challengers Jill Broussard and Anthony Gonzalez - have been invited to address Chamber members and answer questions involving the state of education and its future in San Tan Valley.

In a continuing effort to offer a wide variety of services to its members, the San Tan Valley Chamber of Commerce has partnered with SCORE (Senior Corp of Retired Executives) to provide mentoring and other resources to small businesses.

Founded in 1964, SCORE is a nonprofit association dedicated to educating entrepreneurs and helping small businesses start, grow, and succeed nationwide. SCORE, a 501C3 non-profit organization, is partially funded by the US Small Business Administration (SBA) and is a valuable network of over 13,000 volunteers, including 105 in the Phoenix-area. SCORE Volunteers offer small business entrepreneurs confidential business mentoring services at no charge. SCORE’s volunteers represent over 3,000 years of experience across 62 industries and have worked with over eight-million businesses over its nearly 50-year history.
