Poston Butte Sweeps Top Spots in Algebra I in CAC Math Competition

On Thursday, April 12, 2012, ninety students from Poston Butte High School competed in the 35th annual Central Arizona College Math Competition.

Students swept the top spots in Algebra I and placed well in Calculus, resulting in a total score that landed the team in 3rd place overall for 2012.

The winners are as follows:

Level 1 – Algebra 1

  • 1st place – Destiny Cooley & Ileeyah Hoeck
  • 2nd place – Kenadi Kirby & ShiAnne Reeves
  • 3rd place – Monique Herrera & Amie Michie

Double Elimination Individual Competition – Calculus

  • 4th place – Ian Clough
  • 5th place – Colton Schubert

Overall as a school: 3rd place – Poston Butte High School
