Anthem Hospital Staff Donates School Supplies to Project Bridge

by: Dana Hawman

Employees at the Florence Anthem Hospital collected school supplies, backpacks and clothing for the Project Bridge Family Assistance Program throughout the month of August. “We like the fact that our contributions are helping kids locally,” stated Melinda Bocook-Lopez when she came by the Project Bridge office to drop off the supplies. “You never know; it could be your next door neighbors who are struggling to get by.”

Tonya Thompson, Executive Program director for Project Bridge explained, “It’s our mission to ‘bridge the gap’ in times of family economic crisis – to offer a steadying hand before need spirals out of control – so that families can stay in their homes and kids can stay in their schools while the families regain stability. Sometimes that assistance comes in the form of clothing, food or school supplies, and sometimes it is emergency financial aid.”

She continued, “It’s donations from wonderful people like the staff at Florence Anthem Hospital who provide the resources to help families in need.”

Project Bridge serves families in Florence and San Tan Valley. For more information, go to www.ProjectBridgeInc.org or contact Tonya Thompson at 520-868-7318.
