The J.O. Combs Unified School District and Banner Ironwood Medical Center recently recognized K-12 students who exhibited excellence in responsibility.

The students were presented with a certificate by the J.O. Combs Governing Board, Superintendent Gayle A. Blanchard, Banner Ironwood Medical Center’s chief executive officer, Julie Nunley, and Banner Ironwood’s chief medical officer, Michael O’Connor, MD. 

Students honored include:

  • Tyler Judkins, Grade 10, Combs High School
  • Jared Herrera, Grade 8,     J.O. Combs Middle School
  • Jaden Bernhardt, Grade 5, Simonton Elementary
  • Natasha Perez, Grade 1, Harmon Elementary
  • Madison Durrant   , Grade 5, Ellsworth Elementary
  • Eryn Jagelski-Buchler, Grade 6, Ranch Elementary
  • Ben Sanders, Grade 1, Combs Traditional Academy

The awards are based on qualities highlighted in Character Counts, a national education program integrated through the schools.
