The event will be held on the college’s Signal Peak Campus at its Gloria R. Sheldon University Center (Building T) on Sat., Feb. 25, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., and is open to the public at no cost.
The fair is designed to assist Pinal County youth in their exploration of options for life after high school. Future employers, college representatives and military recruiters will be on hand to provide guidance to those in attendance.
“By the end of the event,” Yvette Tucker, supervisor of children’s outcomes and initiatives at Cenpatico, explained, “we want young people to be excited, empowered, and prepared to acquire the necessary skills to assume the responsibilities of adulthood.”
In addition to the exhibitors in attendance, a trio of workshops is scheduled. CAC’s Luis Sanchez, director of admission and recruitment, and Elisa Juarez, director of financial aid, will discuss the college admissions and financial aid process.
Also, the college’s Jerilyn Hartley of its Campus Disability Resource Office is scheduled to appear as well as Arizona Freedom to Work (ABIL).
“This event will energize community efforts to support young people with disabilities,” Tucker said. “It also will provide opportunities to contribute to the vitality of the community, and potentially aid in workforce development and job training needs of Pinal County.”
