Students attending Central Arizona College will seamlessly transfer to the University of Arizona to complete their bachelor’s degrees in a variety of disciplines thanks to the Arizona Transfer Admissions Pathways (AZ-TAPs) partnership agreed upon by the two institutions.

Dr. Doris Helmich, interim president of Central Arizona College, and Dr. Eugene Sander, interim president of the University of Arizona, will sign the agreement on Friday, Feb. 24, before more than 100 faculty members at CAC’s Corporate Center in Casa Grande.

The celebratory event will begin at 2:30 p.m. and is being held in conjunction with CAC’s Faculty Development Day. Light refreshments will be served.

The agreement will confer a formal partnership to provide seamless transfer opportunities for CAC students to complete their bachelor's degree at the University of Arizona either in Pinal County or at the university’s campus in Tucson.

“This is an exciting partnership that produces tremendous benefits for students in Pinal County who want to complete their bachelor’s degree at the University of Arizona after attending CAC,” Dr. Steven Gonzales, acting associate vice president of Academic Affairs, said. “This districtwide program allows CAC students throughout Pinal County to not only complete their four-year degrees, but to do so at a reduced cost.”

In-county AZ-TAPS tuition and fees range from $500-$1100 less than students would pay by attending the University of Arizona’s location in Tucson.

The partnership will begin with 14 transfer pathways that have been articulated between the two institutions, including:

  • Agribusiness Economics and Management-Agricultural Economics Option (B.S.)
  • Agribusiness Economics and Management-Agribusiness Management Option (B.S.)
  • Agricultural Technology Management and Education-Agricultural Systems Management Option (B.S.)
  • Anthropology (B.A.)
  • Communication (B.A.)
  • English (B.A.)
  • Environmental Science (B.E.S.)
  • Family Studies and Human Development (B.S.)
  • Human Services (B.A.S.) (UA South)
  • Molecular and Cellular Biology (B.S.)
  • Nutritional Sciences-Dietetics Option (B.S.)
  • Nutritional Sciences–Nutrition Option (B.S.)
  • Science Education – Earth Science Option (B.S.S.E)
  • Supervision (B.A.S.) (UA South)
