The Pinal County Board of Supervisors approved construction of two new public health clinics – one each for Maricopa and San Tan Valley. The clinics are in the final stages of completion with the Maricopa location ribbon cutting on February 7 and the San Tan Valley location ribbon cutting on February 21.
Schryer said one of the Board’s strategic goals for the Public Health program is to ensure that more than 70 percent of the population has access to public health services within ten miles of their residence. Pinal County will be able to meet that goal with the opening of these two locations.
The clinics are designed to be permanent locations for public health services in those communities. Services available at these facilities include:
- FREE Childhood Immunizations (walk-ins welcome)
- Adult Immunizations – MMR, TdaP, Hepatitis B, Flu shots (walk-ins welcome)
- PPD/TB skin testing (walk-ins welcome)
- Family Planning/Reproductive Health Services (by appointment)
- Testing and treatment for sexually transmitted disease (walk-ins welcome)
- Well Woman health check/breast and cervical cancer screening (by appointment)
- Administration of the WIC Program (Women, Infants & Children and nutrition education for eligible families) (by appointment)

UPDATE:
Pinal County Health Clinic will NOT open to the public today in San Tan Valley. The Mobile Health Clinic will be on site every day to render services AFTER 2 PM today. There were some unforeseen delays getting some of the clinic furnishings in place so the public opening will be slightly delayed.
