Sheriff Babeu recently honored two Arizona City teenagers for helping to save a woman who was discovered lying unconscious in front of a residential home.

On April 27th, Salvador Morreno, 11, found the woman near South Huntington Road and Benito Drive in Arizona City. As Morreno tended to her, he flagged down Antonio Ramirez, 15, who called 911.

Morreno supported the victimʹs body and comforted her as she struggled to breathe while providing updates to Ramirez who relayed the information to the PCSO dispatcher.

Ramirez told dispatch where they were and deputies responded within minutes. Both boys remained at the scene to give information to first responders.

The woman was transported to an area hospital where she received treatment and is expected to make a full recovery.

Both were recognized this week by Sheriff Babeu, Chief Deputy Steve Henry and Deputy Jason Carnes with Life Saving Certificates at the Casa Grande sub‐station.

“Salvador and Antonio displayed courage, leadership, and compassion during a very difficult situation,” Sheriff Babeu said. “Their actions exemplify the very definition of citizenship. Both are fine examples of the great things our local youth are capable of.”
