Pinal County Regional DUI Task Force Totals from 4th of July Enforcement - Casa Grande

Below are the stats from this past weekend's Holiday DUI enforcement conducted by the Pinal County Regional DUI Task Force.

Detail began 7/5 and ran through 7/7 - 7:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. each night.

We had two deputies in San Tan Valley Thursday night/morning for DUI enforcement.  Friday and Saturday was a full task force deployment in Casa Grande.

Total Officers/Deputies - 49

Number of Contacts/Stops -  459

DUI -  27

Aggravated DUI -  4

TOTAL DUI -  31

 

DUI Breakdown

Extreme DUI -  5

DUI Under 21 -  4

DUI Drugs -  7

Average Blood Alcohol -  .143

 

Agencies participating in the Pinal County DUI Task Force include the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office, Arizona Department of Public Safety, Casa Grande Police Department, Gila River Police Department, Apache Junction Police Department, Coolidge Police Department,Florence Police Department, Eloy Police Department, Superior Police Department, Ak-Chin Police Department and the Maricopa Police Department.

The Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety, the Pinal County Regional D.U.I. Task Force and agencies throughout the State are fully committed to making the streets of our communities safer through aggressive impaired driving enforcement and continued education, as impaired driving is one of America’s and Arizona’s deadliest crimes.

Public Information Officer, PCSO

The Public Information Officer acts as a point of contact between the office and local, state and national media. Duties include media relations and the development of print, audio and video news items to be released to the public. The Public Information Officer advises management of community relations’ projects and activities and answer questions concerning the Sheriff’s Office from the public, media, employees and other jurisdictions.

Elias has an extensive media background and is a decorated graduate of the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University, where he earned his degree in broadcast journalism.  Elias has worked not only in the Phoenix media market as a reporter but also in his home state of Iowa.
