Guy was arrested on March 7, 2012 after he arrived at a location where he believed he was meeting with a 14‐year‐old female victim with whom he had previous sexual contact with on two occasions during the month of February.
Detectives were made aware of the crimes after the teen’s father read text messages on his daughter’s phone from Guy.
The investigation revealed over 2,000 pages of text messages used to lure and groom the teenage victim, as well as attempts to lure a second 12‐year‐old female into similar conduct.
The sentence carries a term of 24 years in prison with no possibility of early release, followed by lifetime probation. Guy will also be required to register as a sex offender for life.
Sheriff Paul Babeu stated, “Most child molesters are able to molest dozens of children before they are ever caught. The majority of children do not tell anyone, and those who do often have to tell multiple people before somebody calls law enforcement to report the crime. The overwhelming majority of child sexual abuse victims are abused by someone they know and trust, a person most parents would never suspect. It is important adults with children encourage their children to know they can talk with them about anything. If you suspect a child has been sexually abused, report it immediately to law enforcement.”
