“This came as a surprise,” said Supervisor Rios. “I was there to present an award with my daughter Rebecca, the last thing I expected is to be named on this list of centennial achievements by the Hispanic Community. I am honored and touched by this recognition.” Rounding out the top three with Supervisor Rios was Raul Castro being elected as the first Hispanic Governor in Arizona and school desegregation.
Valle del Sol is an organization based out of Phoenix that works to strengthen families with the goal of self-sufficiency. They also aim to build the next generation of Latino and ethnically diverse leaders.
