A special time was set aside to honor Alice and Virgil Hedlund of Gold Canyon who were celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary on the exact date of the dinner and show. The couple was presented with two specially decorated cakes, as the crowd sang “Happy Anniversary.” Virgil Hedlund served during World War II in the Army Air Corps in the China-Burma-India theater of operations.
During the evening Apache Junction Police Chief Jerald Monahan presented local veteran Jim Keller with a Commendation Medal in honor of his service to our country during World War II.
