Pinal County Constable Jack McClaren Files to Be Next Pinal County Sheriff

by: Jack McClaren for Sheriff Campaign Committee

WILL RESTORE DIGNITY & FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY TO LAW ENFORCEMENT

Pinal County Constable Jack McClaren officially filed his candidacy for Pinal County Sheriff, filing more than three times the required candidate nomination signatures needed to be on the August 28th Republican primary ballot.

In keeping with Arizona’s resign to run law, McClaren also filed his resignation as County Constable today.

“The Pinal County Sheriff’s Office continues to be in the media spotlight for cost budget over-runs, for investigation by state and Federal authorities for either potential violations of the law or mis-allocation of law enforcement resources.  Paul Babeu has used the office for a now failed Congressional run and brought embarrassment upon himself, tarnishing the good name of the many law enforcement professionals who are Pinal County deputies and detention officers.” McClaren said.

McClaren has more than 19 years of law enforcement experience in Pinal County, including being a past Sheriff’s Office Commander and has kept his Arizona Peace Officer’s certification current through volunteer work with the Florence Police Department.  For the past two years, he has served as the elected Constable in Apache Junction and Gold Canyon, serving as the Justice Court officer.

“Pinal County residents deserve a Sheriff’s Office that is in the news because it is stopping crime, arresting bad guys and stopping the illegal immigration and narco drug traffic crossing our county.  Instead, we are the front pages of major newspapers because our Sheriff’s Office is under investigation for various questionable practices,” McClaren emphasized.

McClaren, an Army veteran, is a 36-year resident of Pinal County and is the vice president on the board of directors of the Apache Junction Boys and Girls Club, in addition to being active in his local church.  McClaren is both a father and grandfather.  He has graduated various professional government courses through Arizona State University, the FBI negotiator course and the University of Arizona.

“Good law enforcement should not mean soaking our tax payers with budget over-runs, paying for employees to be off work for long periods because of unsettled personnel issues and having running arguments with the county supervisors.  I simply have more law enforcement leadership experience than Paul Babeu.  Paul Babue has booked a lot of TV time.  I will book criminals and fill the Pinal County Jail with bad guys,” McClaren stated.
