Bath salts ordinance passed in Cottonwood

by: Merilee Fowler

The Cottonwood City Council passed the attached ordinance last night.

(For some this may seem like an odd article to post on SanTanValley.com, however bath salts are all over Arizona ... and yes even in our local SanTan Valley, AZ. This may be something that Pinal County would like to put together for our entire county.)

The ordinance makes it illegal to sell, possess, or use bath salts or chemical analogues.

Our goal is to get the remaining 8 municipalities in our County to pass similar ordinances.

The State Legislator is moving forward with legislation, but the Cottonwood ordinance has an emergency clause so it went into effect immediately.

I just wanted to share it in case it would be helpful to anyone else.

Bath salts have caused huge problems for us, I am thankful that the Cottonwood City Council was progressive enough to deal with the issue.
