Salt River Project will hold elections on Tuesday, April 3, to fill 22 seats on the Board of Directors and Council of the Salt River Project Agricultural Improvement and Power District, which oversees SRP’s electric operations, and 20 seats on the Board of Governors and Council of the Salt River Valley Water Users’ Association, which manages SRP’s water operations.

SRP board members establish policy, approve annual budgets and set prices and fees.  Council members serve as liaisons to electors and shareholders, amend and enact bylaws, and make appointments to fill vacancies on the SRP boards and councils.

Eligible voters may vote in person at a Voting Center that will be available at the SRP Administration Building, located at 1521 N. Project Drive in Tempe.  The Voting Center will be open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., from March 26 through April 2, and from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day, April 3.

Voting by mail is also available to qualified voters who make a verbal, written or electronic request for an official early ballot to be mailed.  Requests for early ballots are now being accepted by the SRP Corporate Secretary’s Office between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, until March 23.  To request an official early ballot, call the SRP Elections Information Line at (602) 236-3048, or visit the SRP elections website at www.srpnet.com/elections.

District positions up for election are:  One board seat in each of voting divisions 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9 and two at-large board seats 11 and 13; and three council seats in each of voting divisions 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9.  All District positions have four-year terms.

Available Association positions are:  One board seat in each of voting districts 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9; and three council seats in each of voting districts 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9.  All Association positions have four-year terms.
