Motorists traveling between Coolidge, Casa Grande should expect 15-minute delays

by: ADOT

Motorists traveling between Coolidge and Casa Grande can expect delays from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday (March 31) as the Arizona Department of Transportation begins work to improve the roadway on State Route 387 from State Route 187 to State Route 87.

Drivers commuting between Coolidge and the SR 187/SR 387 exit on Interstate 10 will be detoured to one of the following routes:

Motorists exiting I-10 at SR 187/SR 387 (exit 185) traveling to Coolidge will be directed to use SR 187 towards Sacaton to connect with SR 87 southbound. Motorists traveling northbound on SR 87 from Coolidge, seeking to access I-10, will be directed to take SR 187 southwest to connect with I-10.

What to expect during the closure:

  • Motorists should expect additional travel times of approximately 15 minutes.
  • Construction signs will direct traffic through the construction zone and detours.
  • Drivers should proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.
  • The construction project schedule is subject to change due to a variety of reasons, including weather, material availability and mechanical difficulties.
