Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) narrowed Sunday and Monday night (Aug. 12 and 13) to prepare for detour related to State Route 24 construction

Loop 202 to be narrowed to two lanes through late summer 2013

As construction of the fly over ramps that will connect Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) to State Route 24 (Gateway Freeway) continues to progress, a detour along Loop 202 will need to be put into place. The detour will shift traffic so that crews can construct the ramps to SR 24. In preparation of the detour, crews will work overnight Sunday and Monday (Aug. 12 and 13) to install temporary concrete barrier.

Once installed, Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) will be narrowed to two lanes in each direction near the SR 24 work zone through late summer 2013. Drivers should be aware of the following restrictions:

  • Westbound Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) narrowed to one lane between Elliot and Power roads from 9 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday (Aug. 13).
  • Eastbound Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) narrowed to one lane between Power and Elliot roads from 9 p.m. Monday to 5 a.m. Tuesday (Aug. 14).
  • Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) narrowed to two lanes in each direction between Power and Elliot roads through late summer 2013 for State Route 24 construction related activities.
