Property owners who have a widow, widower or disabled exemption need to renew that exemption by March 1st 2016. Pinal County Assessor Douglas Wolf announced today that property owners who have a widow, widower or disabled exemption need to renew that exemption by March 1st 2016.
The renewal process can be handled through the mail and must be notarized. Any person applying for an exemption for the 1st time must appear in person.
"Under state law, those who have lost a spouse and have limited income can apply for the exemption. Applications must be renewed every 3 years. Those wishing to renew or apply for a new exemption can do so at the Florence Assessor's office, at the Casa Grande county complex on Cottonwood road on Tuesdays or Thursdays, or at the Apache Junction county complex on Idaho Road on Mondays or Wednesdays," said Wolf
"For residents living in the eastern portion of the county, we have scheduled an outreach session in Mammoth in cooperation with Supervisor Pete Rios. We will have representatives at his office at 111 Catalina Avenue, in Mammoth on February 3rd from 9:30 AM -1:00 PM," added Assessor Wolf.
All applications require a valid Arizona Driver's License or Arizona ID, Death Certificate, Arizona income tax return for 2015 and the deed and property tax bill. In addition, all not for profit organizations must also reapply for tax exempt status by March 1st.
