Salt River Project has earned the American Public Power Association’s Safety Award of Excellence for safe operating practices in 2012.  It was SRP’s ninth first-place ranking since 1980 and third in the last four years in the category for utilities with systems with 4 million or more annual worker-hours of exposure.

Prior to the arrests, the sale of the illicit sweets was advertised on Twitter: “ Yooo (ex­pletive deleted), #HashCandy on deck! $12. Good 8 to 10 hour high! Hit me up ASAP!,” said one of two Tweets, which were later removed, found by the Independent.

New Study Shows Plant will bring $13 Billion to Nation if Lease is extended

The Navajo Generating Station in northern Arizona will help contribute nearly $13 billion to the Navajo economy and help support thousands of jobs from 2020 through 2044 – if agreements can be reached to keep the plant operating beyond 2019 – according to a study prepared for the Navajo Nation and Salt River Project by the L William Seidman Research Institute at the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University.

First Commercial Deployment of SunPower’s Concentrating Technology

Salt River Project (SRP) and SunPower Corp. (NASDAQ: SPWR) today are dedicating a one-megawatt solar photovoltaic power plant at Arizona State University’s (ASU) Polytechnic campus in Mesa, Ariz. The facility is the first commercial deployment of the SunPower® C7 Tracker (C7 Tracker) technology, a solar photovoltaic tracking system that concentrates the sun’s power seven times to achieve one of the lowest levelized costs of electricity (LCOE) for solar power plants available today. 

Governor Jan Brewer signed HB 2327 into law on Wednesday, which makes the chemical used to make "spice", "K2" and other synthetic drugs a banned substance in Arizona.

Despite the dangers, synthetic drugs are often marketed to teens and sold in convenience stores and there are two locations in San Tan Valley that sell those very items. It can be smoked, inhaled, swallowed or injected.

A multi-agency task force today announced an investigation leading to the identification of four people who work at Dollar Dayz general store located at 1602 West Buckeye Road in Phoenix for Illegally Conducting an Enterprise, Fraudulent Schemes and Artifices, Money Laundering, Unlawful Use of Food Stamps and Computer Tampering.

The investigation comes after months of a coordinated undercover operation involving the United States Department of Agriculture - Office of the Inspector General (USDA OIG), Phoenix Police Department (PD), the Arizona Attorney General’s Office, and the Arizona Department of Economic Security, Office of Special Investigations.
