Celebrate an Arizona tradition with a “floating picnic” in the great outdoors on the Lower Salt River in Tonto National Forest during Memorial Day weekend!

For decades, Memorial Day weekend has signaled the beginning of Arizona’s fun in the sun and “floating picnics” on the refreshing, mountain stream waters of the Lower Salt River are the coolest ride to beat the heat!

The Blue Star Museums initiative is a partnership among Blue Star Families, the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), and more than 1,500 museums across America.   First launched in the summer of 2010, Blue Star Museums offers free admission to active duty military personnel and their spouses and children. In addition to children’s museums, participating museums represent a broad range of art, history, science, and cultural topics.

CAC Family Flicks presents Jaws on Saturday, June 2, beginning at 8 p.m. at the Signal Peak Campus Pool located at 8470 North Overfield Road between the cities of Coolidge and Casa Grande.

Beat the heat this summer with Horseshoe Park & Equestrian Centre's Friday night fun. Join local cowboys and cowgirls for gymkhana, team roping and barrel racing events, all taking place at 20464 E. Riggs Road (Riggs Road, west of Ellsworth Road). Concessions are available on-site, and admission to all events is free for spectators.

Fitness Revolution is going to be hosting Market on the Move again on May 12th from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Due to the heat during summer months it is necessary to put MOM on hold until November so please make sure to come out and see us this Saturday!

We are located at 2769 E Combs Rd. We are off of Schnepf and Combs Roads about 3 miles east of The Olive Mill.

Community members are invited to enjoy a feel-good film that centers on the friendship between a boy and a disabled dolphin.

CAC Family Flicks presents Dolphin Tale at 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 28, at the Copper Basin YMCA in the San Tan Valley. The YMCA in the Copper Basin subdivision at Copper Mind Road and Main Street.

The community is invited to this free movie night that also will feature complimentary popcorn.

In 1962, Winnipeg, Manitoba drummer, Garry Peterson joined up with a few other local musicians, including Little League friend Randy Bachman and bass player Jim Kale and created a band who by 1965, would be known as The Guess Who. Fifty years later, Garry Peterson still remains the drummer for The Guess Who.  In conjunction with The Guess Who’s recent appearance at the Good Life Festival in San Tan Valley, Arizona, Garry was kind enough to share some thoughts regarding his long tenure with his band.

The Florence Unified School District will open its doors to the public for the district wide Art Show this Thursday, April 19, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. in the library at Poston Butte High School. Every school in the Florence district is represented at the art show, which draws in excess of 350 attendees every year.

The guest artist this year is Shawn McCann; a street chalk artist and an award winning illustrator of children’s books.  He will be judging the show as well as doing a chalk art piece at Poston Butte.  McCann will be available for book signing as well.
