So, just what is an Arboretum? Certified arborist, horticultural specialist and Boyce

Thompson Arboretum staff member Jeff Payne leads a walk at 8:30 a.m. Sunday, July 15, where visitors learn the answer to that often-posed question during a relaxed and leisurely guided tour through the BTA’s forested areas.

Join Payne to see the Arboretum’s collection of oak and olive trees, native hackberry, mesquite and many more. This tour repeats Aug. 19 with Tom McDonald as tourguide. He is the owner of Smiling Dog Landscapes Co. in Gold Canyon.

Payne’s walking tour is included with daily admission of $9 for adults or $4.50 for ages 5-12. Check BTA’s website (ag.arizona.edu/bta) to learn more about weekend nature walks and special events, or connect with more than 3,000 fans at facebook.com/boycethompsonarboretum
