First Ever Resource Expo for Breast Cancer Patients, Survivors and Family Members

by: Beckie Black

Gilbert resident, Sarah Ellery, formed “My Hope Bag” last year after going through breast cancer. My Hope Bag is a grassroots non-profit organization that provides tote bags filled with comfort items for women with breast cancer, offering them HOPE and support along their journey.

On Saturday, August 25th, 2012, from 9:00am – 1:00pm, My Hope Bag will host the First Annual Breast  Cancer  Resource  Expo at the Mesa  Convention  Center (263 N. Center Street) in Mesa. This Expo will connect Arizona’s resources with the breast cancer community.

Some of the businesses participating are Abreast In The West, Arizona Wig Boutique, Ashley Chiropractic,  Barbara’s  Mastectomy  Boutique,  Bosom  Buddies  of  Arizona,  Breast  Cancer Society, CORAL Centers, Don’t Be A Chump! Check For A Lump!, doTERRA, East Valley Spine Center, Face In The Mirror, John C. Lincoln Health Network, Paparazzi by Pip, Penguin Cold Caps, Power Brain Training Center, Schwan’s Home Service, Wig Out, and so many more!

“When I found out I had cancer, I didn’t know where to go or what to do. I knew there were resources available but I didn’t know how to find them.” said Ellery “And that’s why this Expo is so important. A woman can come and actually connect with the people she needs to make her journey a less stressful one. We are working with people all over the valley to make sure every need during the journey will be addressed.”

This Expo is open to the public and FREE to attend. The Expo is geared towards women with breast cancer, breast cancer survivors and their family members. Plenty of parking will be available. The Expo will take place in an air conditioned ballroom. Please visit www.myhopebag.org or email   This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
