PCSO Participating in Zero-Tolerance "Buckle Up Arizona" Enforcement Campaign

The Pinal County Sheriff's Office (PCSO) is once again joining forces with agencies across the state for the "Buckle Up Arizona… It's the Law!" enforcement campaign. From May 20th through June 2nd, 2024, PCSO Deputies will be rigorously enforcing Arizona motor vehicle laws, adopting a zero-tolerance stance on seat belt and child safety seat violations.

The campaign is backed by a $5,000 grant from the Arizona Governor's Office of Highway Safety, which will help cover overtime and other employee-related expenses during this critical two-week period.

Sheriff Mark Lamb emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating, "Too often, my deputies respond to serious crashes involving adults and sadly children where a seat belt or properly used car seat would have made a difference. We hope everyone remembers to 'Buckle up Arizona… It's the Law!'"

Ensuring that everyone in a vehicle is properly restrained is not just a legal requirement but a critical safety measure. Seat belts and child safety seats save lives by reducing the risk of injury or death in the event of a crash. The PCSO's participation in this campaign underscores their commitment to protecting the community and reducing the number of preventable injuries and fatalities on the roads.

The "Buckle Up Arizona… It's the Law!" campaign is a reminder to all drivers and passengers of the vital role that seat belts and child safety seats play in safeguarding lives. PCSO encourages all motorists to adhere to the law and ensure that every passenger is properly restrained before hitting the road.
