Register by February 20 to Vote in the Presidential Preference Election

As the Presidential Preference Election (PPE) approaches on March 19, 2024, it's crucial for the residents of our community to ensure their voices are heard. This election plays a pivotal role in determining who will be the presidential candidates in the much-anticipated 2024 General Election.

Understanding the PPE

The PPE is not like regular elections. It's a unique opportunity for voters to select their preferred presidential candidate from their respective parties. This process helps shape the final presidential race and sets the stage for the General Election.

Eligibility to Vote in the PPE

However, it's important to note that not everyone can participate in the PPE. The eligibility criteria are specific:
  • Party Affiliation Required: Only voters who are registered members of the participating parties can cast their votes in the PPE.
  • Participating Parties: This year, the Democratic and Republican Parties are the ones participating in the PPE. This means independents or members of other parties will not be able to vote in this election.
  • Specific to Registered Democrats and Republicans: In essence, you need to be registered as either a Democrat or a Republican to have a say in the March 19th PPE.

How to Register or Update Your Registration

If you're not registered yet, or if you need to update your voter registration (for instance, if you want to change your party affiliation to participate in the PPE), there's still time! The deadline for voter registration is February 20, 2024. This gives you a window to ensure you're eligible to vote.
