J.O. Combs Unified School District Announces Annual Mock Interview Event

The J.O. Combs Unified School District, through its Coordinator of Career & Technical Education, John Scrogham, has announced the much-anticipated annual mock interview event. This unique and impactful educational experience is set to take place on February 29, 2024, at Combs High School.

The mock interview event, a cornerstone in the district's commitment to student development, has been instrumental in providing high school students with real-world experience in job interviews. It's an essential part of their learning journey, especially for those enrolled in Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs. This year, the district expects to conduct approximately 280 interviews, making it one of the largest and most comprehensive events of its kind.

A Call to Action for Business and Education Leaders

John Scrogham extends a warm invitation to business and education leaders to participate in this enriching program. The event relies heavily on the involvement of professionals who volunteer their time and expertise to conduct interviews. These interviews are not just a simulation; they are a crucial part of helping students develop and refine their job-seeking skills.

What to Expect as a Volunteer

Volunteers will have the opportunity to meet and interact with a diverse group of high school students. These students have not only honed their technical skills but have also been practicing essential job-seeking techniques. As a volunteer, you will conduct interviews with a new student every 25 minutes, providing them with valuable feedback and guidance.

Making It Easy for Volunteers

Understanding the busy schedules of professionals, the J.O. Combs Unified School District has ensured that volunteering at this event is as convenient as possible. Everything needed for the interviews is provided, so all that volunteers need to do is sign up, show up, and play a vital role in shaping the skills of future professionals.

How to Register

Interested individuals are encouraged to register using the provided registration link. There are two time slots available on February 29th, and volunteers can choose to sign up for one or both sessions. Additionally, current volunteers are invited to forward the registration link to other professionals who might be interested in participating. Early registration is recommended to facilitate the scheduling process.

This event is more than just an exercise; it's a bridge connecting education to the real world, where students gain invaluable experience and insights from seasoned professionals. The J.O. Combs Unified School District is proud to host this event and looks forward to another successful year of student development and community engagement.
