Assessor, Recorder, and Treasurer Offices Now Open at the San Tan Valley Complex

The Assessor, Recorder and Treasurer Offices are now open at the San Tan Valley Complex located off Bella Vista Rd and east of the Central Arizona College San Tan Valley complex, at 31505 N Schnepf Road, San Tan Valley, AZ 85143.

The hours are:

  • Assessor: Tuesday and Thursdays from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
  • Recorder: Monday thru Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
  • Treasurer: Monday thru Thursday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

All offices are closed for lunch 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM

What does the Assessor do?
The Pinal County Assessor's primary mission is to locate, identify and appraise at current market value, locally assessed property in Pinal County for ad valorem tax purposes (taxation based on the value of property). Vacant and improved land, including the attached residential and commercial structures, comprises the bulk of locally assessed property. Our valuations are used by the Treasurer's Office to calculate the taxes due for over 140 local taxing authorities in the county.

The Assessor's Office is also responsible for the valuation of manufactured housing and business personal property.

What does the Treasurer do?
The Pinal County Treasurer is the custodian of public monies, responsible for the collection and distribution of the personal and real property taxes levied by the county and various taxing entities i.e.(Political Subdivisions) including the community college, school districts, fire districts, sanitary districts, water and irrigation districts, various improvement districts, flood control districts and cities and towns.

Additional Responsibilities of the office include:
  • Providing financial services to special districts and political subdivisions within Pinal County.
  • Investing county monies while maintaining liquidity to conduct business on a daily basis.
  • Receipt and disbursement of public funds
  • Debt management of bond issues
  • Payment of school and county warrants
  • The Treasurer Offering delinquent taxes for purchase at a Tax Lien Sale in February that increases the revenue from unpaid delinquent taxes.
  • Overseeing the process of deeding property to the State of Arizona for parcels with five years delinquent taxes.

What does the Recorder do?
The Pinal County Recorder keeps public records and is in charge of voter registration and early voting.
